The department provides law enforcement services for the city of West Covina. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting/removal, child abuse prevention, crime prevention, emergency protective orders, law enforcement complaints, municipal police, neighborhood watch programs, police reports, sexual assault prevention, spouse/partner abuse prevention, and temporary restraining orders services. Services are restricted to the city of West Covina.

Temporary restraining order assistance is provided on a short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location.

The department provides a crime prevention and community education component that includes a neighborhood watch program and drug abuse prevention presentations for the local high schools. The Police Department also offers programs for the community on child abuse/child molestation, rape, domestic violence and shoplifting prevention.

Outreach is available for local merchants for crime prevention coordination. APPLICATION PROCEDURE In an emergency, call 9-1-1. Call or walk in for other services. Police reports may be requested in person or online; reports are available a minimum of 10 days after being filed. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for most services.
