Assistive Technology Equipment Acquisition Assistance

The agency provides services for people with disabilities in Los Angeles County and throughout the state of California. Services include assistive technology equipment aquisition assistance, assistive technology information, Braille materials/collections, and visual/reading aids. Services are targeted to students. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program provides accessible materials in formats which include braille, large print, audio, and electronic files of state adopted textbooks, and electronic files of state adopted textbooks (grade K-8) in specialized media.

The agency also dispenses Federal Quota monies for enrolled students who are blind, to purchase text books, curricular material, and devices through the American Printing House for the Blind. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for information, referral, or consultation services. There may be a fee for some materials that are purchased through the program.
