Provider: RIO HONDO COLLEGE CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The program provides employment services for students. The Career Development Center provides counseling and career guidance for students. Services include career counseling, a prejob guidance, public awareness/education on employment issues and vocational assessment. There are no geographic restrictions.

Assessment services include the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator to assess personality type; Career Occupational Preference (COPS) to assess skills and interests; EUREKA, a computerized guidance system; and a self-directed career interest inventory.

The center conducts monthly workshops on a wide range of employment-related topics. In addition, the center offers a 3 unit class on Career Exploration for students that meets CSU general education requirement standards. The center also provides public awareness/education for organizations or classes that explain the career preparation services and other employment issues. The center houses a career resource library. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information or to apply for service. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Career testing costs $16 for Rio Hondo students; an additional $5 fee is required for community members. The EUREKA computerized assessment fee is free.
