The agency provides substance use disorder services for adults, age 18 and older who live in Los Angeles County. Services include alcohol use disorder education/prevention, central intake/assessment for alcohol and drug use disorders, comprehensive outpatient alcohol use disorder treatment, comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment, and drug use disorder education/prevention. There are no geographic restrictions.

The outpatient treatment, which is also available to dually diagnosed adults, is a six-month to one-year program. The program includes individual substance use disorder counseling, alcohol and drug education, twelve-step groups, random drug screening, specialized information and referral, and health education.

This county Community Assessment Service Center (CASC) provides central intake/assessment for alcohol and/or drug use disorders. Staff use an automated assessment tool to determine addiction severity and screen the participant's eligibility for specifically funded county-contracted alcohol and drug programs. Supportive services may include substance abuse education, vocational rehabilitation, transportation and referrals to other community services.

Alcohol use disorder education and prevention and drug use disorder prevention education are both provided through speakers who talk with school groups, community groups and businesses.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information; an appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Medi-cal and private insurance are accepted; private pay options are available depending on program participation. Fees for the education and prevention services are negotiable.
