Child Abuse Counseling ( Child Abusers )


The program provides child abuse services for families with children of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include adult diversion, child abuse counseling, co-parenting workshops, and parenting skills classes. There are no geographic restrictions.

211 L A County refers only to this private practices' court-approved child abuse and domestic violence services and its free victims of crime support services; it does not refer to private practices for general mental health services.

The child abusers' treatment program includes group therapy for people involved in the abuse or neglect of children. The program is a 52-week course approved by the Los Angeles County Probation Department.

Parenting classes are also provided for dependency court and criminal court-referred parents, including those with high-conflict in the home. Parents may attend together or separately; classes run 12 or 52 weeks in length.

Parenting classes include a Parenting Without Conflict class to help parents reduce their conflict, improve communication, and learn to negotiate parenting agreements that work for the children. The agency is approved by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. The agency accepts referrals from the Department of Children & Family Services. It is a 12 week program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required. Court referral clients must present a court case number or a police report number. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale that begins at $20; Healthy Families, Healthy Kids and private insurance are accepted. There are no fees for services for abused children; assistance from the Victims of Crime Fund is available.
