Child Guidance
Provider: SOUTH BAY YOUTH PROJECT
The youth project provides counseling services for youth and their families who live in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Services include adolescent/youth counseling, child guidance, domestic violence support groups, juvenile delinquency prevention, tutoring services and parenting support groups. The service area includes El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates. There are geographic restrictions.
The goals of the project are to assist youth who are experiencing problems at home, school, or in the community; to provide support for their families, and to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to refer youth to the program. Youth can be referred by school personnel, law enforcement agencies, or parents or guardians. Since the project's clients are minors, parent or guardian permission is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are on a sliding scale based on ability to pay; however, no one is turned away due to inability to pay for service.
