The agency provides out-of-home care for youth age 5-22, who are visually impaired and have other moderate, severe, or profound disabilities. Services include children's/adolescent residential treatment facilities. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

The focus of the program is to teach critical life skills and to increase self-sufficiency to the maximum possible for each child. Center-based programs and community-based educational, social, and recreational opportunities are provided. Included in the program are social and group living experiences; recreation and domestic skill activities; travel and mobility training; community education, and experiences to prepare the youth for independent living.

Family support services are also provided and family members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of their children''s lives. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or write to apply for information. A child may be referred by a family member, healthcare or blindness professional, DCFS, Regional Center, or school district. FEES/ PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees to the client; fees are paid by referring agencies or SSI.
