Citizenship Education ( TANF Recipients )

Provider: RIO HONDO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT

The college provides vocational education for people who live in the Whittier area, including the cities of El Monte, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte and Whittier. Services include English as a Second Language, and vocational education. The college provides classes in the Continuing Education Department in arts and entertainment; medical; fee based classes and non-credit classes; automotive; environmental, real estate and decorative and creative arts; online classes and classes which help people meet citizenship requirements. There are no geographic restrictions.

The college also provides a veterans affairs office to assist with education benefits and a disabled students program which provides registration, tutorial and instructional assistance, counseling, braille services and sign language interpreters. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information about courses and registration procedures. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is a $36 per unit fee. Fees are waived for TANF and SSI/SSA recipients.
