Citizenship Education
Provider: SIMI INSTITUTE FOR CAREERS AND EDUCATION
The school provides adult education to students ages 17 to 18 with referral by their school administrator or counselor and adults who live in Simi Valley and surrounding communities. Services include adult basic education, high school diploma, GED, ESL, citizenship, parenting education and vocational education. There are no geographic restrictions.
Parenting education provides classes for parents with infants, toddlers and children to age 5.
Vocational education may include such classes as accounting clerk, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, legal and medical administrative secretary, medical transcriber, office clerk, receptionist, computer graphics, web design and development, CAD technician, cosmetology, dental technologist, emergency medical technician, medical assistant, nurse assistant, pharmacy technician, phlebotomist technician, respiratory therapist, surgical technologist, machine shop, notary public, real estate agent/broker and welding.
The adult school accommodates individuals with disabilities. A forty-eight hour advance notice is required to meet special needs for public meetings. If special accommodations are required for school attendance, call the main number. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call, walk in or visit the school's website for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for classes and materials.

SERVICE HOURS : Business Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 4:30pm; Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The Student Store is available after hours Monday through Thursday, 4:30pm to 8:00pm for registration.
