The institute is a collaborative of campus and community members committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people living in the San Fernando Valley area. Services include community wellness programs and planning/coordinating/advisory groups. Services are targeted to the San Fernando Valley area; however, there are no geographic restrictions.

Community wellness is provided through a variety of health and nutrition programs and classes. Participating community partner agencies include:
