The medical center provides hospital services for children and youth ages 18 and younger who have burn scars, congenital or other defects and orthopedic conditions, including youth who are Medi-Cal recipients, undocumented or uninsured. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic, income or insurance requirements.

This is a specialty hospital for children providing pediatric orthopaedics, burn reconstruction and plastics, cleft lip and palate and prosthetics and orthotics.

Services include outpatient treatment for the following conditions: Amniotic Band Syndrome/Constriction Ring Deformity, Amputations, Arthrogryposis, Blout's Disease, Brachial Plexus Palsy, Breast deformities (congenital), Burn injuries and Scars, Cavus Foot, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, Cleft lip and palate, Club Feet, Cutaneous Vascular Malformations/Port Wine Stains, Ear Deformities (congenital), Flat Feet, Stable Fractures, Gynecomastia, Hairy Nevus, Hand Deformities (congenital) and Hand Injuries (non-acute), Hip disorders, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip, In-Toeing, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Kyphosis, Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, Limb Deficiencies, Deformities and Length Discrepancies, Lordosis, Microtia, Multiple Hereditary Exostosis, Neurofibromatosis, Osgood-Schalter Disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Osteomyelitis, Rickets, Scar Revision/Keloids, Scolosis and other Spin Conditions, Skeletal Dysplasia/Dwarfism, Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis, Spina Bifida, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Spondylolysis and Spondylolisthesis.

The Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetic Services (POPS) at Shriners for Children Medical Center provides comprehensive care for children in need of prosthetic or orthotic devices. It provides a multidisciplinary team approach to treating children with amputations or limb deficiencies. A comprehensive evaluation is given by a physician, a prosthetist/orthotist, an occupational or physical therapist and a social worker. They work with the patient and family to create a treatment plan, consulting with orthopaedic surgeons regarding surgical options as needed.

Local transportation is provided by Shriners for Children Medical Center for pick-up and drop off services between the medical center and airports, hotels, bus/train stations and the Los Angeles and Pasadena Ronald McDonald Houses.
