The clinic provides services for children age birth to 18 years who have developmental delay due to neurologic and/or orthopedic involvement. Services include early intervention and therapy for children with developmental delays including conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, and intellectual disabilities. The clinic primarily serves families that live in the greater Long Beach area; however, there are no strict geographic restrictions.The programs offered at Tichenor are: Development Program (Early Intervention), physical, occupational and speech-language therapy, swim program and support groups for teens and parents/caregivers. Therapy services are offered for children that do not have access or are underinsured for these services.

The Rich Kempster Swim Program includes individual swim lessons, group swim lessons, and parent/me swim classes. Children must be bowel-bladder habit trained, be able to close their mouth, able to follow directions and behave cooperatively. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to inquire; appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is a $10 registration fee; a monthly donation is suggested.

Swimming lesson fee is $16 per lesson; scholarships are available based on income level.
