Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites
Provider: CITY OF DUARTE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT - DUARTE SENIOR CENTER
The agency provides services for older adults, age 55 and older, who live in Los Angeles County. Services include blood pressure screening, congregate meals, exercise classes/groups, health education, recreational activities/sports, and senior centers. There are no geographic restrictions.
The activities include classes in aerobics, exercise, yoga, crocheting and knitting, and piano; arts and crafts; bingo; movies; lectures and speakers; holiday parties; and excursions.
The hot lunch program provides a nutritional, balanced meal for seniors age 60 and older and their spouses of any age. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information; an advance 24 hour reservation is required for the meal program. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are nominal fees for some activities. The suggested donation for the hot lunch is $3.00.
