The nutrition program provides congregate meals for people age 60 and older and home delivered meals to people who live in the San Fernando Valley. Congregate meals and home delivered meals are restricted to the San Fernando Valley area.

Meals on Wheels is a fee-for-service program that delivers meals to the homes of frail elderly, disabled and anyone in need of temporary assistance to live independently because of a medical condition. It is available to San Fernando Valley residents regardless of age. Volunteers deliver a nutritious hot meal and a cold sack lunch at mid-day, five days a week. Meals are diabetic and hypertension friendly; kosher meals are available with advance notice.

The Meals to the Homebound program is designed to provide proper nutrition in the home to seniors, age 60 and older, who cannot prepare their own meals. Home-bound delivered meals are available for people who are disabled and/or seniors who, because of age, illness or disability are not able to attend a congregate meal program or to shop or cook for themselves. The program delivers a nutritious hot meal, five days per week. Kosher meals are available with advance notice. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information about or referral to congregate meals. A 24-hour advance reservation is requested at most sites for first-time diners. Call to apply for Meals on Wheels or the Meals to the Homebound program. Proof of illness or disability is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is a suggested donation for each congregate meal, call for information. No one is denied access to the nutrition program due to inability to pay.
