Court Ordered Parenting Programs
Provider: BE TRANSFORMED INC
Alcohol and drug use disorder counseling may be 12 weeks to six months. The program accepts male and female adolescents, ages 12 to 18 and men and women over age 18. A one-time screening is conducted to determine if the services match the client need. Applicants with co-occurring disorders such as mental health issues are referred to other agencies. The program works with referrals from DCFS, the Probation and Parole Departments, and the Courts; however, people may also self-refer. Counselors are certified.
Therapy is faith-based and uses a Christian Biblical perspective as well as an integrative approach using other theoretical orientations. The goal is family unity and harmony, combined with behavior modification, motivational enhancement, and psycho-education.
The agency also provides court-ordered parenting based on the curriculum of Breakthrough Parenting. The court accepted program is a 10 week course that teaches advanced parenting skills in a group setting. Participants receive certificates of completion; staff will provide additional progress reports to the court as needed by request.
In addition, the agency provides a 52-week Domestic Violence Intervention Program that is accepted by the courts. The group therapy program is conducted by certified anger management counselors. A certificate of completion is provided for the court. APPLICATION PROCEDURE An appointment is preferred. Call or e-mail to apply. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale based on income; a one-time fixed fee of $65 is charged for the initial screening.
