LA COUNTY PCR HOME TEST KITS
The LA County Home Test Collection program offers an option to receive a free a free at-home nasal swab PCR COVID-19 test. To qualify, you must:
- Have symptoms of COVID-19 or think you were exposed to COVID-19
Testing services are available at no out-of-pocket cost and can be accessed by anyone regardless of insurance or immigration status. This test is a PCR COVID-19 test which must be mailed back to Fulgent Genetics Lab for processing. Within 48 of receiving test, Fulgent will send you an email to notify you when your results are ready to view.

HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE/REIMBURSEMENT FOR AT HOME COVID-19 TESTS
Beginning January 14, 2022 the federal government will require private health insurers to cover up to eight (8) antigen rapid home tests per month. Coverage may include receiving test kits directly from the insurer OR receiving reimbursement for purchased tests. Coverage requirements and application procedure will vary by insurance company.

MEDICARE COVERAGE FOR AT HOME COVID-19 TESTS
Beginning April 4, 2022, individuals with Medicare Part B, including those enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, may now receive up to eight (8) over-the-counter, at-home Covid-19 tests at no cost. Kits will be available from participating pharmacies and health care providers for the duration of the Covid-19 health emergency.

AT HOME COVID-19 TESTS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE LOW VISION
Beginning June 23, 2022, at home Covid-19 tests that are more accessible for people who are blind or have low vision are now available. The tests work with a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet app to provide users with audible instructions and audible test results. Due to limited supply, these tests are only intended for individuals who do not have other options for using the standard Covid-19 test. Individuals who can receive help from a household member or other trusted person, and those who use assistive technology such as AIRA or Be My Eyes, are asked to order and use standard Covid-19 tests.
Users must have a compatible bluetooth enabled smartphone and download a free app from the Apple App store (for iOS) or Google Play store (for Android).
Tests may be ordered online at https://special.usps.com/testkits/accessible, or by calling (800) 232-0233. Each order will include 2 rapid antigen tests; orders will ship free while supplies last.
Individuals who need additional assistance with ordering tests, understanding instructions, or finding alternative testing options can call the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL) at (888) 677-1199 Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 8:00pm EST, or email DIAL@usaginganddisability.org.
