Discount Transit Passes

Provider: CITY OF MONTEREY PARK DIAL-A-RIDE

The program provides transportation services for residents of Monterey Park who are age 55 and older and/or have a signed form from a physician attesting to a disability that travels within City limits, except for medical appointments to adjacent communities in Alhambra, Montebello, San Gabriel and other unincorporated L A County areas. Services include bus passes, disability related transportation, paratransit services and senior ride programs. Service is limited to the city of Monterey Park and to surrounding communities for medical appointments only.

Paratransit transportation is provided within the city of Monterey Park and to limited locations in surrounding cities including hospitals and clinics. Services are available for shopping, banking and personal errands within Monterey Park City boundaries; for medical needs, travel can be extended into specified areas of adjacent communities.

Discount transit passes include discounted Metro Tap cards; cards are provided on a first-come, first served basis. APPLICATION PROCEDURE For paratransit services, an application must be filled out at the Langley Senior Center. ID and proof of residence are required as well as proof of disability if the individual wishes to qualify on that basis.

Reservations are required for service. Call five days in advance for out of the area medical appointments; and three days in advance for personal errands.

Discount Metro Tap cards are available starting on the tenth of the month and are awarded on a first come, first served basis. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is an initial $5.00 registration fee. There are no fees for most services.
