Provider: AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF KIDNEY PATIENTS

The agency provides health services to individuals in Los Angeles County and throughout the United States. Services include disease/disability information, and medical information lines targeted to kidney disease. There are no geographic restrictions.

This is a voluntary membership organization which provides information about kidney disease, treatment and rehabilitation to enhance understanding of kidney disease and to promote the interest and welfare of kidney patients.

The organization provides information for patients about mutual support; dialysis centers in the United States and abroad; and legislative developments pertinent to the treatment and rehabilitation of people who have kidney disease.

The organization also provides information about the need for organ donation which includes discussion of the legal and religious aspects. A variety of pamphlets are available. A journal (RENALIFE), is published bimonthly and may be ordered on a subscription basis. Kidney Beginnings: The Magazine is a free quarterly publication that is published four times a year.
