Drug/Alcohol Testing

Drug/Alcohol Testing ( Adolescents )

Provider: PROTOTYPES - A PROGRAM OF HEALTHRIGHT 360 - MARK S. TAPER FOUNDATION FAMILY LIVING CENTER

The program provides mental health services for low-income adults and adolescents ages 12 to 21, and children ages two to six, who are Medicaid/Medi-Cal recipients in Los Angeles County. Services include adult psychiatric day treatment, general counseling services, developmental assessment, developmental screening, individual counseling, family counseling, psychiatric case management, psychiatric medication monitoring and parent support groups. Services at the Pasadena and Pomona Outpatient Behavioral Health Center programs are restricted to people who are CalWORKs eligible. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Developmental Screening program for children, age two to six years, is offered to parents who have concern about the developmental progress of their child. A screening tool, Ages and Stages Questionnaire or ASQ, is administered by agency professional staff with the parents in the clinic setting, client's home, preschool, or other community-based location. Parents are then provided with the results and recommendations for further services and/or offered education in strategies in working with their child on their skills deficits.

Treatment services may include outpatient mental health services, individual therapy, family therapy, children's therapy groups, Play-based therapy, Dyadic therapy, and parenting education. The agency works with the entire family including parents, guardians and siblings during counseling. Staff also provide community outreach. Staff are trained in Incredible Years (IY), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP).

Developmental assessments are diagnostic evaluations that more deeply evaluate the child's skills in five areas; cognitive, socio-emotional, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and language development. They include psychological testing and are conducted by a multidisciplinary assessment team (MAT).

Intensive services are provided for clients who need additional services. The intensive outpatient program includes psychosocial rehabilitation and group therapy three to four days per week. Special programs are conducted for pregnant or parenting teen mothers, and individuals who have dual diagnosis. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; an appointment is required for most services. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services; Medi-Cal pays fees for service.
