The clinic provides services for children age birth to 18 years who have developmental delay due to neurologic and/or orthopedic involvement. Services include early intervention for children with developmental delays including conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, and Muscular Dystrophy. The clinic primarily serves families that live in the greater Long Beach area; however, there are no strict geographic restrictions.

Children are enrolled on the basis of diagnosis and the ability to benefit from services. The program meets for a period of two and one-half hours, two times per week. Each child is screened to assess his or her developmental needs and an individualized program is designed to promote gross and fine motor, social, cognitive, language, and self-help skills. Parent participation and involvement is encouraged. Physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy is offered; physicians provide orthopedic supervision if desired. Therapy services are offered for children that do not have access or are underinsured for these services. Orthopedic consultation is available for non-urgent orthopedic problems. Parent support groups with informational resources are also available.
