The health center is a public clinic that provides comprehensive health services to people of all ages in Los Angeles. Services include adolescent/adult immunizations, Child Health Disability Prevention (CHDP) exams; childhood immunizations, contraception, dental care, diabetes management clinics, emergency dental care, flu vaccines, general medical care, mammograms, pediatrics, pregnancy testing, prenatal care, service cost payment assistance, sexually transmitted disease screening, and urgent care. Age restrictions apply for some services; there are geographic restrictions for some services.

Adolescent/Adult Immunizations such as Hepatitis A and B; Measles, Mumps and Rubella; Influenza; Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus; Pneumococcal Polysaccharid and Poliovirus, may be available to adults, age 19 and older; however, there is limited availability at DPH and DHS clinic facilities. Call for information about vaccine availability.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

Dental services include examinations, cleaning, fillings and x-rays for children age 3 years and older and adults. Dental Walk-in Emergency Clinic is Monday through Friday at 7:30 AM.

Contraception and reproductive health services are provided. Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a complete physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 65 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.

Referrals are required for specialty services such as colposcopy. dermatology, diabetes management, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, liver, ophtholmology, podiatry. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to make an appointment for most services. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is no charge for immunizations, up to the age of 18. Medi-Cal, Medicare, cash, credit card and private insurance are accepted as payment. As a Department of Health Services Comprehensive Center, there are also other options for payment including Ability to Pay (ATP) and Pre-Payment plans.

The appointment line is available Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm. Health center hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm; Saturday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
