This toll-free hotline accepts calls from anyone who wants to report suspected or confirmed fraudulent acts committed by any Los Angeles County employee, vendors or contractors which may include theft, abuse of position, conducting personal business during work time, abuse of work hours, misuse of sick leave, claiming unnecessary or unworked overtime, and similar activities. People may call anonymously if they wish and county employees who report co-workers are protected against retaliation. Each call is evaluated, investigations are conducted if warranted, and other county departments may be called upon to cooperate including the sheriff's department and district attorney's office. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the hotline anonymously or may identify themselves while reporting the fraudulent activity. People may also report County fraud online at www.fraud.lacounty.gov. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
