English Language Instruction Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for people who live in South Central Los Angeles. Services include administrative volunteer opportunities, advocacy/ombudsman volunteer opportunities, board/committee member volunteer opportunities, career development volunteer opportunities, computer literacy volunteer opportunities, conversation partner volunteer opportunities, education volunteer opportunities, English language instruction volunteer opportunities, and grant development volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.

Volunteer opportunities include helping with childcare, conversing with ESL students, and helping to plan class lessons. Additionally short and long term opportunities include positions such as grant writer, board committee member, family advocate, law adviser, teacher or substitute, computer expert, website volunteer, office worker, and photographer. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information. Volunteers must interview with the Site Supervisor before beginning their hours. TB test results, and proof of MMR and TDAP immunizations are required; fingerprints may also be required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees.
