The council provides legislative advocacy for the Muslim community. Services include constitutional/civil rights groups, ethnic advocacy groups, legislative advocacy, public awareness/education, and specialized information and referral. There are no geographic restrictions.

The council is a policy advocacy organization for the Muslim community which seeks to inform and shape public opinion and policy through legislation and engaging the public with various campaigns. It does not provide individual legal representation or counseling.

Several educational publications are available on the council's website including policy papers, coalition letters, legal briefs, and congressional testimony.
