The agency provides services for people with disabilities in Los Angeles County. Services include assistive technology information, computer classes for adults, evaluation for assistive technology for people of all ages, and technical assistance specializations with assistive technology issues for school districts and other agencies. There are no geographic restrictions.

The goal of the agency is to provide information and access to assistive technology to disabled individuals, families, and organizations that work with children and adults with disabilities. The agency offers a wide range of supportive services to assess the need, evaluate the options, and facilitate the use of assistive technology.

The Blind/Low-Vision program assists individuals who are blind or visually impaired in developing skills to go back to school, pursue employment or gain independence. The program provides computer training and assistance in determining the type of computer, hardware, software technology that would be most helpful to the individual. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call, walk in or write to apply. An appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for most services; there are fixed fees for contracted services to schools and other agencies. The Blind/Low-Vision program is vendored by the Department of Rehabilitation.
