Extended Child Care ( Developmental Disabilities )

The agency provides programs and services for children and adults with mild-to-severe developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, among others. Services include adapted physical education, disease/disability information, health disability related support groups, information and referral, physical therapy and residential camps. There are no geographic restrictions.

Programs provided include adaptive recreation; socialization and recreation; inclusion activities; adult work programs; after school enrichment programs; warm water aquatics classes; overnight camping; community employment programs; and residential housing.

Programs for youth include after school day care for children and teens age 5 to 22; to be eligible a child's parents must be enrolled in school or must be employed. Day care participants attend five days per week and are involved in a variety of activities like athletics, arts and crafts, singing, cooking and community excursions. A summer/holiday day camp provides similar activities one month per year and during some school vacations.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information about specific sites or any other agency service. For housing inquiries, contact the headquarters office. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for information and referral services. There are fixed fees for some services. The fees are paid by Regional Center or the Department of Rehabilitation for clients they subsidize. Other clients are on a private pay basis.
