The center is a specialized mental health facility which offers a variety of multilingual, multicultural, family-oriented professional mental health services which are sensitive to the needs of San Gabriel Valley residents of all ages who are of Asian/Pacific heritage. Services include a court ordered parenting program; parenting skills development; family, cultural, substance use disorder counseling, and transitional counseling; mental health evaluations; medication and psychiatric monitoring; and resocialization assistance. Most services are restricted to people who live in Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bassett, Bradbury, Charter Oak, Covina, Diamond Bar, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, Industry, Irwindale, La Puente, Monterey Park, Monrovia, Pasadena, Rosemead, Rowland Heights, San Dimas, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South El Monte, South Pasadena, South San Gabriel, Temple City, Valinda, Walnut and West Covina.

Mental health services include individual, conjoint, family and group therapy; play therapy for youth; medication therapy; adult socialization and skill development activities; psychological testing and psycho-social assessments; psychiatric case management; parenting classes/parenting support, postpartum counseling; community services; and in-home counseling. Family counseling is provided in the Korean language by appointment.

Medi-Cal eligible youth, 0 to 18 years of age, may receive developmental assessment services and behavior modification therapy through the CHDP program.

The center provides treatment for people who are experiencing a wide range of problems including child abuse, those with chronic or severe mental illness; dually-diagnosed substance abusers; and those who are at risk for developing serious emotional and adjustment problems. People who are in life-threatening emergencies are referred to other agencies.

The program provides integrated substance use disorder/mental health services for adults and adolescents with co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health diagnoses.

The center also has a School-Based Early Intervention Program and a Substance Use Disorder Prevention Program, which provide youth mentoring support groups and skills training at local schools. The youth program includes prevention education for substance abuse and HIV prevention.

Parenting skills development and a bi-cultural parenting skills development program with printed materials are also offered at the City of Industry and Rosemead sites; services are available not available in English. Parenting classes are 14 weeks in length; participants may receive a letter to satisfy court requirements.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply for services; an appointment is required. An initial assessment is provided and individuals must be on Medi-Cal. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees for service are billed to Medi-Cal.
