Food Donation Programs


The agency provides emergency food services to individuals who live in Los Angeles County. Services include food donation programs, pet food, and ongoing emergency food service. There are no geographic restrictions.

Types of food available includes bread, rice, canned food, dry goods, frozen foods (meat, burritos, frozen dinners), dairy products, organic produce.

Dog and cat food may also be available (depending on supplies).

Individuals and families can get one cartful of groceries that averages to 200 pounds of food.

The agency sells food vouchers to organizations or individuals to give to clients or friends who are in need of food. The vouchers are for use at World Harvest only. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in to apply for and receive service. No identification is required to receive service. For first time clients a brief registration process is needed. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There is a requested $40 donation or work for service (4 hours of work). After the first $40 fee, the client receives a coupon book worth a discount of $5 on subsequent visits. Pet food requires an additional donation.
