Formula/Baby Food
Provider: CITY OF GARDENA RECREATION AND HUMAN SERVICES
The agency provides emergency food services to Gardena residents, including people who are homeless, undocumented or who receive public assistance. Services include formula/baby food, and occasional emergency food assistance. Services are restricted to Gardena residents in zip codes 90247, 90248, and 90249.
Emergency food consists of a three-day supply of canned and packaged groceries. The amount of food given varies with family size. Baby food, infant formula and powdered milk are usually available. People may apply for assistance three times per year with a 30 day period in between. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in to apply for service.
Documentation required for adults - must be a Gardena resident (electric bill, gas bill, phone bill or water bill) and if renting bring rental receipt dated in the last 30 days or rental agreement; current picture ID, DMV identification card or work identification/passport.
Documentation required for household members - for children under 17 bring birth certificates, foster children must have court stamped guardianship paper, will also accept government documentation with photo ID for household members.
Proof of income for all adults - pay check stub, unemployment check stub, current print out of all benefits - General Relief, CalWORKs, TANF, Social Security or Disability (Notice of Action). FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
