General Mental Health Information/Education

The agency provides mental health services for people of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include administrative entities, disability rights groups, general mental health information/education, individual advocacy, legislative advocacy, specialized information and referral, therapy referrals, and trust preparation assistance. There are no geographic restrictions.

Services include free telephone information about mental illness and referrals to treatment and support services for the severe and chronic mentally ill callers area. Services and referrals for less severe disorders such as anxiety attacks are not provided.

The association monitors all legislative issues concerning mental health on a national, statewide and regional basis, works with mental health and related coalitions and staffs the California Coalition for Mental Health.
