General Paratransit/Community Ride Programs


The agency provides transportation services for residents of Canyon Country, Castaic, Newhall, Santa Clarita, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch, Valencia and Val Verde areas of Los Angeles County. Services include discount transit passes for older adults and individuals with physical disabilities, general paratransit/community ride programs, senior ride programs and local bus services. Geographic restrictions apply.

The mass transit services include nine bus lines which provide local fixed route bus services and seven commuter routes. Passengers must have a valid TAP card, or exact fare to board buses. Monthly bus passes provide unlimited travel aboard local buses.

Dial-A-Ride provides curb-to-curb services within the city; services are available to seniors (60 and up) and people with disabilities all day and to the general public after 6:00pm.

Access Services provides curb-to-curb services within and outside the city. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Individuals must register with both Dial-A-Ride and Access Services. Proof of age, residence and disability are required. Call or walk in to apply for services or information. Walk up for service of Commuter Express fixed route line. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Dial-A-Ride charges $2.00 per ride for seniors, people with disabilities, and companions. Children under 5 ride for free.

Access Services charges per ride $2.00 within the city and $6.00 to $7.00 outside the city depending, on the location. Children under 5 ride for free.

Local routes cost $1.00, children 5 and under ride for free. Other routes cost more depending on distance traveled. Day passes cost $2.50 and monthly passes cost $34.00. Senior Citizens (60 and over), disabled, and Medicare recipients must show their senior/disabled TAP card or Access Service ID in order to receive free local bus service. A monthly local transit pass, can be purchased online or at any of the 16 sales outlets in the Santa Clarita Valley. See website for locations and details. The pass is good for unlimited local riding. Monthly discount passes are available for seniors 60 or older with proof of age, and people with physical, mental or developmental disabilities are available. Call for information.
