Health Education ( Diabetes, Pregnant Women )

The hospital provides a variety of health education classes for the community. Services include breastfeeding support programs; cancer support groups, including a breast cancer support group for Latinas; CPR for new parents; diabetes self management; diabetes support groups; household safety programs for new parents; nutrition classes for heart patients, cancer patients and people who have diabetes; exercise/fitness classes including aquarobics, pilates, and yoga instruction. Support groups are available for people who have cancer and their families. Classes focus on teaching people coping skills and how to focus on living. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or to apply. People may walk in to the Outpatient Rehabilitation office to purchase a class card for multiple sessions. Smoking Cessation class has a separate phone intake. Some classes require a doctor's referral. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Support groups are free. Call for information about class fees.
