Health Insurance/Dental Coverage ( People Without Health Insurance )

The agency is authorized to conduct enrollment in the Covered California and the Healthy Kids insurance program for families who have children, age 0 to 5, who are without health insurance, and are not covered by another social or private insurance program. The insurance program is provided by the Children Health Initiative of Greater Los Angeles, and L A Health Plan (see the separate entries for details). The agency also provides information consultation and enrollment assistance for Medicare Part D for the limited English proficient seniors. For children's health insurance, KRC provides consulation and application assistance for the Healthy Families Program (HFP), Kaiser Permanente Children's Health Insurance and Children's Medi-Cal.

The agency conducts workshops for interested parents and help to complete the applications, which are forwarded to insurers.

The agency also assists with consultation application assistance for Medi-Cal and Medicare Part D. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information.

Documentation requires proof of family income, including previous year's income tax form; proof of residence, such as a utility bill, rent receipt or driver's license. The person applying may be the parent, step parent, guardian or relative caregiver. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees to enroll; premiums are based on the number of children enrolled.
