Health/Disability Related Support Groups ( Epilepsy )

The foundation provides services for people with disabilities of all ages who have epilepsy and their significant others in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties. Services include advocacy (state and federal levels), disease/disability information, medic alert bracelets/necklaces, mutual support groups for adults, parent support groups, family weekend camp and public awareness/education. Age restrictions apply for some services; there are no geographic restrictions.

The foundation provides information on epilepsy and referrals to a wide range of medical, legal, social, psychological, and other community agencies that offer assistance for people who have seizure disorders. Other services offered include, but are not limited to, monthly support groups, social outings, network for adults, family weekend camp and teen camp, college scholarships, seminars, workshops, monthly E-news, and helpline services.

Epilepsy training for school nurses and school personnel as well as presentations at schools, community groups, social service agencies, and organizations about seizure recognition and first aid training. Presentations usually include speakers, films and literature. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
