Home Maintenance and Minor Repair Services ( Older Adults )

The program provides housing services for residents of the City of Los Angeles. Services include first time home buyer programs for low and moderate income families; home rehabilitation/repair grants for low income households. The program targets older adults, age 62 and older, disabled adults, and low-income families. There are waiting lists for some programs. Services are restricted to City of Los Angeles residents.

PURCHASE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS Purchase Assistance deferred loans for low- and moderate-income first-time home buyers who need assistance in purchasing homes in Los Angeles.

MORTGAGE CREDIT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM Mortgage Credit Certificates allow qualified home buyers to purchase their first home by reducing their income tax obligations. The use of tax credit helps homebuyers qualify for a larger mortgage or lower your monthly payment.

HANDYWORKER PROGRAM Handyworker Program provides free minor home repairs to low-income senior (62 years and older) or disabled resident homeowners or homeowners with disabled relatives residing with them in the City of Los Angeles.

LEAD-BASED PAINT HAZARD CONTROL PROGRAM Lead-based Paint Hazard Control Program provides lead-based paint hazard remediation grants to pre-1978 low-income residential housing units. Program also provides lead certification training for contractors/workers. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information or an appointment. To report a problem property, call the hotline. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees to apply for a loan. Interest rates are below the market rate.
