Housing Complaints

The agency provides consumer assistance and protection services and private/voluntary consumer group services to people who live in Los Angeles County. Services include bankruptcy assistance, consumer complaints, housing complaints, housing discrimination assistance, and private/volunteer consumer groups. There are no geographic restrictions.
Consumer complaints, education and fraud protection services include providing legal advice, counsel, education and referrals to file consumer complaints, protect the rights of victims of consumer fraud, and to educate potential victims in avoiding fraud.
Services provided for matters such as identity theft; predatory lending; consumer scams; immigration fraud; automobile leasing, repairs, repossessions and sales; construction and contracting; debt collection harrassment; home loans; door-to-door and phone sales; notary and paralegal services; and vocational school services.
The agency also provides these services via a monthly consumer law clinic at Centro Maravilla (see separate entry for contact information and site details).
