Individual Advocacy ( Homeless Veterans )

Provider: LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF LOS ANGELES

The agency provides advocacy services for veterans and applicants and recipients of public benefits programs who live in the cities of Los Angeles (excluding the San Fernando Valley) and portions of Los Angeles County. Services include individual advocacy and welfare rights assistance. Geographic and income restrictions apply.

The program provides advocacy to ensure that people receive the benefits to which they are entitled, including CalWORKs, CAPI, CalFresh, General Relief, In Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Medi-Cal, Social Security and SSI (not for initial application of SSI). Assistance includes forms assistance, legal counseling and representation at fair hearings.

For SSI they assist with individuals already established with SSI needing assistance. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply for service. Proof of income and residency may be required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
