Individual Counseling ( Older Adults )

The agency provides services for older adults, age 60 and older, in Los Angeles County. Services are targeted to Gardena residents. Services include arts and crafts instruction, caregiver/care receiver support groups, case/care management, escort programs, health screening/diagnostic services, individual counseling, legal counseling, recreational activities/sports, and senior centers. There are income and residence requirements for some services.

The center also publishes a resource guide for caregivers. Support services are provided for any caregiver; the person cared for does not have to be enrolled in a day care program.

The Supportive Services Program (SSP) provides case management services to assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of older adults age 60 and older to allow more frail seniors to stay in their homes as long as appropriately possible.

The Traditional Legal Assistance Program (TLAP) provides legal assistance including general counseling, benefits assistance, certificates/forms assistance, naturalization assistance, and tax information provided by visiting attorneys from Bet Tzedek APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fees for some services; others are free or a donation is requested. The caregiver support group is free. The resource guide costs $5.50 per copy.
