Involuntary Psychiatric Intervention
The program provides mental health evaluation, diagnosis, medication, crisis intervention, and short-term treatment for people of all ages who live, primarily, in the central health region. Staff provide evaluation services for people who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis, can impose a 72-hour hold on clients who are a danger to themselves or others and facilitate voluntary or involuntary hospitalization, and can refer people when appropriate for ongoing inpatient or outpatient treatment. Extended evaluations are available for adolescents and children in specialized units. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk into the emergency room admissions office for service. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are on a sliding scale, Medi-Cal and private insurance are accepted.
