Landlord/Tenant Assistance ( Low Income )

Provider: LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF LOS ANGELES

The agency provides housing services to people who face eviction for low-income people who live in the city of Los Angeles (excluding the San Fernando Valley) and portions of Los Angeles County. This service may include certificates/forms assistance, eviction prevention legal assistance, and landlord/tenant assistance. Applicants must meet low-income requirements.

It also operates the Eviction Defense Center which deals with landlord/tenant issues. Services related to eviction include referral to agencies that will help clients fill out forms related to Unlawful Detainer notices, and a Trial Preparation Clinic that teaches people about what will be required at the court hearing related to their eviction defense. Clients that need landlord/tenant dispute resolution are referred to Dispute Resolution agencies. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply for service. Proof of income and residency, and an eviction notice may be required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
