The agency provides planning and development services for individuals in the city of Long Beach. Services include building and safety, downtown development, home improvement/accessibility, leadership development, mediation, meeting space, neighborhood improvement groups, neighborhood multipurpose centers, neighborhood revitalization, neighborhood watch programs, noise abatement, public internet access sites, and specialized information and referral. Services are restricted to residents of Long Beach.

This multipurpose center provides general information and assistance for city residents, neighborhood association flyer boxes, computers, printers, Internet access, a copy machine, and a variety of office and event supplies for neighborhood groups. It distributes a trilingual newsletter and email announcements for upcoming events, grants, and jobs. Staff provide technical assistance with grants and neighborhood projects. Monthly workshops about neighborhood improvement and funding opportunities is also provided.

A Resource Library helps residents with issues about property management, community gardens, disaster preparedness, parenting, public safety, street trees, youth opportunities, and a variety of business-related topics.

Dispute resolution and mediation is provided on-site by the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Services program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for service. Information is also available on the city's website. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
