Legal Counseling ( Special Education Issues )

The agency provides legal services for people of all ages in Southeast Los Angeles. Services include legal issues education/information; legal counseling in the areas of family law, special education, unlawful detainers and immigration; and legal internship opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency provides legal educational clinics and self-help workshops. Volunteer attorneys educate and empower individuals about their legal rights and responsibilities. Topics include family law, unlawful detainers, immigration, special education and criminal record expungement.
A self-help Access Center is available to provide information after-hours.
Internships are also available. Students are assigned administrative tasks, interact with clients, and are allowed to shadow an attorney. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for service or to apply; an appointment is required for some services. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE A $30 donation is required; additional fees may apply for photocopies and paperwork.
