Legal Services Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides legal services, primarily for low income people who are representing themselves in Family Law matters such as annulments, custody/visitation, divorce, notary services, paternity cases, and restraining orders for both civil matter and domestic violence. Services include certificates/forms assistance and general legal aid. The agency also recruits and trains volunteers to assist with general legal aid matters. The agency does not provide legal representation; staff can refer litigants to other sources of legal assistance. There are no geographic restrictions.

All services are provided under the supervision of a licensed attorney and a certified legal document assistant.

The agency is conveniently located for litigants near the Family Court in downtown Los Angeles, however anyone can apply for service. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply or for service. An appointment is preferred. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for service, starting at $50.
