Provider: CITY OF LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - CITYRIDE PROGRAM - LADOT DASH PROGRAM

Cityride is a transportation assistance program for residents of the City of Los Angeles, age 65 and older, and for people age 11 and older who have permanent disabilities. The program offers a reduced rate for the purchase of Los Angeles permitted taxi rides and Cityride Dial-A-Ride services.

Eligible registered riders may use the City-issued Cityride card that can be reloaded on a quarterly basis. The card may be used to purchase dial-a-ride service, accessible taxi ride, or private lift-van trip, or any combination of these services. Riders may use up to $12 in fare value for a trip; amounts over $12 must be paid for in cash. Dial-a-ride pick up times are Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 4:30pm. Taxicabs are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Service areas and providers within each area are as follows:

AREA 1 - SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
City of Los Angeles, all communities north of Mulholland Dr.

Taxi Service Providers are: City Cab and United Taxi of San Fernando Valley

AREA 2 - WESTSIDE/CENTRAL and EASTSIDE/CENTRAL
City of Los Angeles, all communities south of Mulholland Dr., including Palms, Mar Vista, and Westchester and north of the Santa Monica Freeway.

Taxi Service Providers are: Yellow Cab, Beverly Hills Cab, United Independent Taxi, Bell Cab, Checker Cab, Independent Taxi, City Cab.

AREA 3A - SOUTHWEST/CRENSHAW
City of Los Angeles area east of Culver City, the city of Inglewood or La Cienega Blvd., south of the Santa Monica Fwy. and west of Figueroa to Martin Luther King Blvd. and west of Vermont Blvd.

Taxi Service Providers are: Bell Cab, Beverly Hills Cab, Checker Cab, Independent Taxi, United Independent Taxi, Yellow Cab

AREA 3B - SOUTHEAST/WATTS
City of Los Angeles, south of the Santa Monica Fwy. and east of Figueroa St. to Martin Luther King Blvd., east of Vermont Blvd. and north of El Segundo Blvd.

AREA 3C - HARBOR
City of Los Angeles, south of El Segundo Blvd.

PRIVATE LIFT-VAN OPERATORS - CITYWIDE
Taxi services contracted by the City have over 150 Vans with lifts. However the following private companies are also available:

The contracted providers of dial-a-ride, taxi service and lift-van service provide curb-to-curb transportation for seniors age 65 and older and people 11 years and older who have disabilities; are residents of the City of Los Angeles. Drivers may not leave the vehicle unattended; however, they can meet the rider at the curb and assist the person into the van. They also make sure that disembarking passengers are steady and safe before leaving.

People who have severe disabilities of any nature and who need to be accompanied by an attendant may apply for this service. Once the application is approved, the attendant must accompany the person each time s/he uses the program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE The application may be submitted online at https://register.cityride.net/

For assistance in person or via phone, call the general Cityride number. Cityride applications in English and in Spanish are available at L A City Senior Citizen Multipurpose Centers and Centers for Independent Living in Los Angeles; and at all City Council District offices. Applicants must have a physical address to receive services.
When the card is received by the client, they then call to make a reservation with a service provider in their area. Call the reservation number in the proper service area at least two business days in advance for medical-related Dial-A-Ride service and one business day in advance for non-medical related Dial-A-Ride service.
