Medically Oriented Books and Playthings
Provider: STARLIGHT CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION
The program serves seriously or chronically ill youth, ages 4 to 18, through in-hospital programs and products that provide entertainment and recreational activities, including movies, video games and mobile personel computers with filtered internet access. There are no geographic restrictions.
The program also recruits adult patient support volunteers to implement the program. Volunteers participate in special events for chronically ill youth; organize toy distribution programs; and perform clerical duties. APPLICATION PROCEDURE A referral from a physician, hospital, or social worker is required. Call or visit the agency's website for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
