Mental Health Drop In Centers

The agency provides mental health services for adults, age 26 to 59, who can benefit from peer-led self-help groups in a drop in setting. Services include a mental health drop in center (Client-Run Center), peer counseling and wellness program for adults with mental health issues.

The agency sponsors a MHSA-funded Client-Run Center (CRC) to provide services and support to former DMH mental health clients, and others who are recovering well and no longer need intensive services. The center provides self-help mental health support groups; peer to peer support groups; social/recreational activities; medication evaluation and support services; and integrated services and support for co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse. The center is located at the agency's downtown location.

The agency also provides a wellness program called the Recovery Retreat for adults age 18 and older. The program can accommodate 6 people. The program is a live-in 2 week program for people with mental health issues. The individuals must have a residence to go back to after the 2 weeks. The live-in 2 week program provides peer support, teaches meal planning and budgeting, everyone helps with chores, resolves problems with peer support, everyone attends self-help groups, learn about setting goals and using community resources.
