Nutrition Education ( Pregnant Women )
This is a supplemental nutrition program that provides food vouchers and nutrition, health and breastfeeding education for pregnant women, new and/or breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children younger than age five. Eligible applicants meet 185% of federal poverty guidelines (see WIC eligibility guidelines in CRA Resource Materials) and have been determined to be at nutritional risk by a health professional; they may include undocumented women.
This agency provides WIC services for residents of Bell, Bell Gardens, Compton, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Los Angeles 90001, 90003 and 90011, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, and South Gate. It also serves people who live in the portions of Carson 90745, 90746, 90747 that are east of Figueroa and north of the 405 freeway; Los Angeles 90058 and 90059 west of Alameda; Los Angeles 90037 east of Figueroa; Los Angeles 90003, north of Florence and east of Figueroa; 90002, north of 91st St.; and Los Angeles 90007, east of Figueroa and south of Washington.
