Occasional Emergency Food Assistance

The agency provides emergency food for low-income people, homeless, handicapped, elderly, and those with an emergency need. An ongoing program is available for anyone listed above. One time only emergency food assistance program is available for people who are homeless or in need. Services are restricted to Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Irwindale and La Puente residents.

The center provides a bag of groceries which usually includes canned goods, such as fruit, green beans, carrots, corn, spaghetti sauce, rice, beans, cereal, bread, cookies and juices. The amount of food provided varies with family size but is usually enough to last for two or three days. The ongoing food program provides assistance to over 150 families monthly.

Thanksgiving baskets are also provided for people involved in the ongoing assistance program. There may be a waiting list for the ongoing food program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required; referrals are accepted. There may be a waiting list for this program. CADL, CAID is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
