Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance

Provider: SANTA CLARITA VALLEY FOOD PANTRY

The program provides emergency food for low-income people in the Santa Clarita Valley including people who are homeless or homebound. Services are restricted to Acton, Agua Dulce, Canyon Country, Castaic, Green Valley, Newhall, Saugus, Val Verde and Valencia residents.

The program provides bags of groceries which contain USDA food products, canned, dried packaged goods, bread and some frozen or refrigerated items. The amount of groceries varies according to the family size. Infant formula, baby food and diapers are usually available for people already involved in the food program. People may be assisted twice a month. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in for service. Picture ID such as CADL or CAID, proof of residence such as a rent receipt or utility bill and knowledge of income are required at the time of the first interview. Applicants are provided food on their initial visit. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
