Organizational Development and Management Services

Provider: CITY OF LOS ANGELES ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIVISION

The department provides services for microenterprises and small businesses located in the city of Los Angeles. Business assistance center services include business loans, customized training for employees, entrepreneurial training, minority business development, organizational development and management services, small business financing, and small business development. Some services are restricted to the city of Los Angeles.

The division offers direct financial assistance and technical assistance programs to promote economic growth and job creation in economically depressed areas of the City.

Lending programs include City of Los Angeles Small Business Loans and Microloans, commercial loans, SBA Microloans, 7A and 504 loans.

BusinessSource Centers provide individual technical assistance and counseling which may include such areas as planning, financing, and marketing. Also provided is access to capital, business courses, workshops and consulting to microenterprises and operating businesses.

Entrepreneurial Training Programs provide training in how to start a business, how to obtain necessary permits and licenses, how to successfully run a business, and how to write a business plan. Classroom training is conducted in Bookkeeping/Accounting, Business Plan, Business Taxes, Pricing/Inventory Control, Market Research, and Salesmanship.
